6 Ways to use Engagement Photos

So you decided to take engagement photos, you had a blast, and now you’re looking through your gallery with googly eyes thinking, “These are stunning, but what am I going to do with them?” Most of the time, these are the first professional photos of a couple, and you should take advantage of that! As an engagement photographer, here are my top six ways to utilize your engagement photos. Take a look!

SAVE THE DATES AND INVITATIONS

The most popular usage for engagement photos is to utilize them in your Save the Dates and/or invitations. These beautiful pictures deserve to be seen on more than just a computer screen! You can work with a stationer or use a semi custom website like Minted or Basic Invite to find a template that works for you. Add in your photo, wedding details, and bam- you’re done!

HOLIDAY CARDS

If the timing is right, use those engagement photos for holiday cards for friends and family! I personally love hanging up all my holiday cards during the season and feeling the love. Wish your loved ones a happy holiday season and share your engagement photos all at once. Win win!

WEDDING WEBSITE

Another great pre-wedding place to use your engagement photos is on your wedding website or registry! Use just a few on the home page, or if you really love them, share the full gallery on a separate tab. Incorporate a mix of your professional photos and some of your favorite non professional photos for a little photo diary of your relationship. So cute!

PRINT AND DISPLAY AT WEDDING EVENTS

Like I said above, your engagement photos deserve to be seen on more than just a phone screen. Print these babies out and frame them for your pre and post wedding events! Sprinkle them around your engagement party, wedding shower, rehearsal dinner, wedding day, or post wedding brunch. With the right frames, these gorgeous photos can make for the perfect decor for any of these events.

MAKE A GUEST BOOK

One of my favorite ways to use your engagement photos is to make a little album with lots of blank space so that your guests can sign it as a guest book! This makes for such a sweet momento, and years from now you can look back on your grandmother’s handwriting or your best friend’s well wishes. This way you can also look at your photos in a tangible way and create a family heirloom.

KEEPSAKE ALBUM OR PRINTS AS GIFTS

Parents LOVE photos of their kids happy. Engagement albums make the perfect gifts for the holidays, Mother’s Day, birthdays, or just because! You can also make an album for your significant other for Valentine’s Day, the holiday season, anniversary, or wedding day gift. Add a sweet handwritten note and a ribbon and you’ve got the perfect gift.

No matter what you decide to do with your engagement photos, any way you display them is beautiful! And you both look great, so you should share these stunners!
