Ahhhhhhh, this surprise proposal has me feeling all the feels!

Jiwoo wanted to create a memorable proposal for Youna, so he also enlisted the help of Tom Duarte, a Spanish guitarist, because Youna loves Spanish guitar music! Jiwoo and I planned out the perfect cover-up: I would photograph Tom for his branding photos, and then Jiwoo and Youna would stroll in and ask if they could stand a little closer to Tom to hear the music- I would say “Yes!” because Tom would need some photos with a live audience for his website.

The craziest thing is that Jiwoo planned the proposal from New York! Both him and Youna live in New York, and he had some work to do in SF. Youna was going to travel to SF with him as well, and he decided that he was going to propose to Youna sometime during the trip. After much planning, we were ready to go!

We were blessed with beautiful morning sun and chirping birds on the day of the proposal. There was a 20% - 40% chance of rain, but it all cleared up!

I saw Jiwoo and Youna appear out of the corner of my eye, and I continued to focus on taking photos of Tom. They walked a little bit into the tunnel, came right back, and just started swaying to the music. The cue for Tom to play “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran was Jiwoo doing a full-body stretch, and that was when Jiwoo started his proposal.

Jiwoo spoke from his heart, and Youna just didn’t know what was happening until Jiwoo got down on his knee. She said Yes!, I said Yes!, and Jiwoo said Yes! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!! 😍

After the proposal, we spent some time in the tree tunnel and frolicked through nature.
