Chabot Space & Science Center Wedding
Sim and Mat hosted their wedding celebration at the Chabot Space and Science Center in Oakland! This is such a unique venue in that guests can look at the stars using their telescope and and there are redwoods nearby.
These two lovebirds met in college! According to Sim, “He sat in front of me and I couldn't see the board in class. The next class he showed me some poems he wrote and we got to talking, and a few minutes into the convo I asked him if he could not sit in front of me because I couldn't see the board. A few months later he hit me up on FB and our first date was a coffee shop in Echo coffee shop in Hayward.”
They also have a precious German Shepherd named Igel (pronounced like Eagel). We were able to include in for portraits with Sim and Mat before he was whisked away at a dog care. He was a very good boy during his photo time!
Sim wore two wedding sarees: one before the ceremony and then she changed into a different one for the reception. She looked stunning in both, and it was a great way to honor her culture. Mat and his family built the floral arch themselves, and they included a hedgehodges to represent the favorite toy of their dog who passed away (before Igel).
I love it when couples do their own thing and infuse their personality and stories in their wedding details.
To Sim + Mat- thank you again so much for having me as your wedding photographer. It was such a joy to celebrate with you and guests. Cheers to many years of laughter, delicious food and all the pets for Igel ♡♡♡
